Anatomy of the Gemini Lunar Eclipse

Anatomy of the Gemini Lunar Eclipse

What does it mean when the eclipse squares the asteroid goddesses and nodes of fate? The Lunar Eclipse in Gemini is exact 11-30-2020: 3:30am (CST).

Gemini Lunar Eclipse Intention

I let go of unnecessary business, over-extension, and emotionally exhausting relationships to create space for greater vitality, curiosity, and sustainability. The right and left hemispheres of my brain synchronize, facilitating mental clarity, discernment, and innate trust in every experience.

In ancient mythology, Gemini represented both the seen and unseen worlds. The sign of the twins remind us of the connection of our physical and spiritual nature.

Sabian Symbols: Going on Strike

The Sabian symbols for each degree of the zodiac were created by clairvoyant Elsie Wheeler in 1925. Interestingly, Sunday’s eclipse falls in 8-degrees of Gemini, on the Sabian symbol of industrial strikes. What are you no longer willing to put up with? What project do you need to put down in order to move forward with other areas that are important to you? How can you stand up for yourself, without hurting someone else? What negotiations or bargains can be made at this time? Guard against taking someone or something for granted, protesting everything, and any greedy tendencies.

The Gemini eclipse triggers fate as it activates the North/South Node axis.

Because it’s in the Air sign of Gemini, there is a foreshadowing element of the journey we are embarking on during the new 200-year cycle this Solstice. The last time the Nodes were in Gemini/Sagittarius was 1983, when the first woman traveled to space. This eclipse unlocks important information regarding space travel, dystopian futures, and artificial intelligence. Themes around UFOs, bigfoot, and aliens will continue to be popular cult classics, but on a deeper level the Nodes reflect to us where we’re going in life. What is your soul mission? What quest are you embarking on next?

All things in moderation.

You would be wise to show some restraint while this Eclipse is quincunx Venus and sesquisquare Jupiter. If your love life and/or finances are unsettled, or you’re experiencing strong emotions – know that the truth will soon be revealed as the Eclipse sesquisquares Pluto, the planet of transformation and depth. Let go of power struggles, embrace a new mindset.

What does it mean when the eclipse squares the asteroid goddesses Vesta and Ceres?

Vesta is associated with women and keeping the home fires burning, while Ceres represents the mother/child union. At times we have to withdraw, to relight the sacred fires in our own hearts. Issues around commitments, relationships, and unconditional love come up for review. Is it time to re-write your vows? Create new traditions at home? Ask for support and to be nurtured?

Too many tabs open?

When the Full Moon falls in the Air sign of Gemini, you can expect plans to change. You might notice a need to be around friends, be social, and to keep a lot of tabs open on your computer. You could feel pulled in many directions, indecisive, or scattered. This is the perfect Moon to find closure by talking it out, sending a final newsletter, or finishing a book. This is the Moon of the multi-tasker, the social butterfly, and the curious Seeker. It is time to bang the drum of self-inquisition and approach the world with a fresh perspective.

GEMINI FULL MOON NUMEROLOGY
There are many ways to incorporate numerology when formulating your ceremony. You can find numbers to work with in the degree of the sign (8), the date (11/30 = 5), the hour you conduct the ceremony, etc.

GEMINI FULL MOON CEREMONY
Clarity Infusion

This ceremony offers an opportunity to discern where you can bury the hatchet and move forward in peace. Go for it! This is about your freedom. This is an ideal ceremony for anyone looking for clarity or seeking to quiet the mind. It is also a great ceremony for couples who are wanting to come to a resolution or find mutual solutions. Excerpt from The Book of Ceremonies by Tiffany Harelik & Amanda Rieger Green.

Step One: Selecting Tools
Set up a Full Moon wishing area in a quiet space without distractions. Ideally you can do this outdoors, but a private space inside works too. Refer to the corresponding elements in the section above to select your tools. We suggest incorporating at least one tool per element (Fire, Earth, Air, Water), as well as a journal to write your intentions and responses to the journal prompts. You’ll also need a clear glass or glass pitcher.

Step Two: Fill Your Cup
Fill a pitcher or glass with water. Add your favorite crystals to the water along with the essential oil you want to work with. Say: I am infusing and charging this water with intellectual clarity, purity of heart, and quantum energy. Repeat 3 times.

Step Three: Willingness in Action
Write out these questions and answer them to the best of your ability. Use your breath to inhale each question and exhale each response.

  • Is there any anger, resentment, or unrest I’m hanging on to?
  • Am I willing to stop fighting anything that traps me in a state of resistance?
    Why or why not?
  • Am I willing to objectively view my contribution to any of the resistance or challenges I am facing?
  • Where can I bury the hatchet, forgive myself and others, and move forward in peace?

Meditate on your responses. Take time to tap into the energy of each response, especially where you are uncomfortable or resistant. Make a list of all behaviors, thoughts, and actions you are willing to stop into a ‘let go list’.

Step Four: Intentions
With this new clarity, write Full Moon intentions at the time the Full Moon is exact (or within a few hours if possible).

Step Five: Charge the Water
Under the light of the Full Moon, place the pitcher/glass of water on top of the “let-go” list. Ignite a bundle of dried sage/lavender and wave the smoke around the glass or pitcher, your let-go list, and all around yourself. *If you cannot place the glass or pitcher outside, placing it on or near a window seat or patio. Silently invoke the illumination and wisdom of the Gemini Full Moon to activate and purify your intentions in the highest light. Leave the water and list alone for two nights.

Step Six: Let it Go
On the third night, take the infused water inside for a bathing ceremony. Light a candle and place it safely on a bathroom counter nearby. Turn on some soft clearing music, such as Tibetan singing bowls, or a chakra clearing meditation.

Draw a bath and add the charged water to it. Stir the bathwater with your hand counterclockwise setting an intention that this bath will be a healing process. Add in a few drops of essential oils that won’t burn your skin. If no bath is possible, you can sprinkle or spritz the Water over yourself in a shower.

Step Seven: Wash it Away
Read your let-go list aloud in the bath and intend that the water will cleanse and clear your energy field from anything limiting you. Give yourself permission to find the willingness, open-mindedness, strength, and integrity to surrender anything and anyone that is diminishing your light. After you get out of the bath or shower, light a sage wand and smudge your bath before draining it. Drain the bath, then smudge yourself from head to toe.

Blow anything else you want to let go of into the light of the candle, extinguishing the flame. Put a few drops of essential oils behind your ears and on the back of your neck daily for the next two weeks while the Moon is waning. The oils act as a comforting reminder to your cells that you are done with everything on your let-go list and ready to stand in your own strength and light.

Step Eight: Closing Sacred Space
It is important to seal the energy after any ceremony with a special prayer of your choosing.
