23 Dec Finding World Peace at Home Depot

I’m at the Home Depot in small town, Texas yesterday asking about hoses. An employee goes out of his way to show me some that are on sale half off (50 ft at $14.98 is a good deal and I put three in my basket).
I learn he’s spent several years in service to the United States and thank him for that. I also learn he’s been married over 50 years – he says there are two words that have made the marriage successful: yes ma’am.
He shows me the hummingbird stuff and bird seed is also on sale ($5/bag for sunflower seed is a great price I may have to go back). He mentions he just feeds, doesn’t hunt anymore. 
Now we’re talking. 
Now we’re talking. Me: Oh I completely understand- I’m vegetarian and a beekeeper – but I used to hunt and fish too.
Him: We used to go on these big hunts in Argentina and fly all our fish and game back home. I just can’t do it anymore. We have a big hunting property and now I just go out there to feed the deer.
He feels this way about the wars he fought in too. Hates the deaths of the young people out there fighting for freedom. I learn about his political views and just listen. Listening becomes a meditation. No action is needed. He tells me to have a blessed day.
Two completely opposite people- cross paths and find a ven diagram – a similarity. That’s world peace.
We are all walking each other home. And that is what took me so long to get home.
